About the Artist

Bud is a self-taught artist whose representational oils focus principally on western topics and historical themes, including landscapes, wildlife and figurative subjects.  This emphasis reflects his life-long interest in the region and its dynamic past, and can be summed up by the view, “There is no other place like The Great American West.”

Bud's work has been included on multiple occasions in juried exhibits including The Art Center, Grand Junction, CO, Grand National Stock Show, San Francisco, CA, Mountain Oyster Club Art show & Sale, Tucson, AZ, Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, Cheyenne, WY, Phippen Museum Western Art Show, Prescott, AZ, Aspen, Colorado Fine Arts Festival, Beaver Creek, Colorado, Fine Arts Festival and Arts for the Parks, Jackson, WY, where his paintings were selected for several “Top 200” and “Mini 100” award categories. His paintings are in collections nationwide.

Generally, Bud declines to interpret or comment in detail on his work.  He rests on the belief that each piece stands on its own, and reserves final judgment for the viewer.
